Bristol City were given a 69th-minute lifeline when substitute Famara Diedhiou, who had only been on the pitch a minute, was bundled over in the box. Former Swansea captain Ashley Williams started for Bristol City after completing a four-match ban and saw Gallagher fire just over from 20 yards early on. But Williams was soon striding out of defence and allowing Jay Dasilva to send over a cross which Nakhi Wells should have planted inside the post and not wide from six yards. Swansea had struggled to get Liverpool loanee Rhian Brewster, five goals in seven games since lockdown, into the contest but they slowly began to get on top. Brewster also volleyed wide as Ayew attempted an overhead kick in front of him but Swansea went ahead seconds before the break. Bristol City knew their campaign was on the line and started the second period strongly, with Wells twice heading over. The Senegalese striker took the penalty himself but sent it against the post and the rebound struck him before going out for a goal kick.

Matthew Maynard, 24, of Penlan, Swansea, South Wales, was jailed for 16 weeks on Friday for breaching the conditions of a month suspended sentence for handling stolen goods. Maynard appeared at Swansea Crown Court after his arrest at a city barber’s shop, where he was getting a haircut, on Wednesday. His stunt with a home-made mug-shot had attracted nationwide publicity after it appeared in the Swansea Evening Post earlier this month. The newspaper had originally carried an official mug-shot of him on its front page, along with seven others, as part of a police campaign calling on the public to help track down wanted criminals.
But Maynard phoned the newspaper, claiming he was unhappy with his mug-shot, and sent them in one of his own instead. A week after it appeared on the front page again, he was arrested in Swansea. Andrew Evans, defending, told the court that Maynard now regretted the way he had handled things. Even though it has been suggested that he kept up a game of cat and mouse with the police, he never left the area. Helen Edwards, prosecuting, had outlined a series of other charges against Maynard during the hearing.
They included allegations of grievous bodily harm with intent on a police officer in connection with his arrest this week, and an allegation of ABH on his own partner last month. Maynard denies the ABH allegation, which will be the subject of a new hearing at the same court on November Terms and Conditions.

The Arctic Circle is a place few people would want to make their home. The only human feet which have passed through are those of Inuit hunters, explorers and scientists, all more than happy to leave when their tasks are completed. With temperatures plummeting to minus 45 degrees centigrade, the only obvious sign of life in this forgotten place, which lies in complete darkness for half the year, is the odd polar bear or walrus. Similarly, Mount Swansea, in British Columbia used to boast a copper ore mine, the contents were shipped back to Swansea ,Wales.

Frank Cecil Bevan set up in sole practice as a Chartered Accountant, as far as I can make out, very early in the first decade of the last century, possibly even as early as His first office was in the National Bank building on the corner of No. How Mr. Bevan’s practice really got going I do not know. When I became the office junior in my first and, as it turned out only job , my concern was to get to understand what it was all about – to keep my head above the tide that was sweeping me along.
I had no interest in those days in looking backwards. Some things however I seemed to pick up on the way. Bevan had prepared in draft.
